There's no "one size fits all" when it comes to surfing.

So you can choose the surf lesson that's right for you during Boardmasters Festival, we've got two different lesson types available.

Get More Out Of Our Small Group Lessons

Our Group Surf Lesson is designed to give you the best start to your surfing journey.

Ideal for anyone completely new to surfing, those in need of a refresher, or the casual surfer looking for some supervised fun in white water waves.

You'll learn all the fundamental skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to start surfing independently and be taught a "pop-up" technique designed to get you surfing - not just standing!

We keep our Group Surf Lessons small at only six students per instructor (compared to 8 at other schools), so you'll get more 1-on-1 time with your instructor, progress faster, and feel safer.

What to Expect

Arrival - 30 Minutes BEFORE Lesson Starts:

Arrive and check-in | Change into your wetsuits | Meet your classmates | Meet your instructor and grab your boards | Head to the beach.

The Beach - First 30 Minutes:

Beach-based safety briefing | Surf etiquette and wave selection | Exercise science based warm-up | How to catch and ride waves.

The Ocean - Final 90 Minutes:

Catching as many waves as you can with plenty of support from your instructor along the way.

Finish - Back at Blue Surf:

Have a debrief | Get changed | Make the most of your 10% food and drinks discount at Recharge Coffee!
